GAC February 2019 Update

Scott Proposes new fee on renewable energy projects to fund utility regulators

The Scott administration is proposing an application fee for future renewable energy projects that could range between $100 and thousands of dollars.  This new fee would apply to non-utility electricity generation projects and would help to fund the cash-strapped Department of Public Service and the Public Utility Commission.  For projects 50 KW and under the a flat fee of $100 would be applied and for projects over that it would be $4 per KW.
