Energy Efficiency Decrease for Most Home Electric Bills

The Vermont Public Utility Commission has approved a 3 percent decrease in the residential energy efficiency rate for Efficiency Vermont. This decrease is a result of over-collection from the previous year.
The commissioners decided to waive the rule that normally calculates year-to-year energy efficiency rates in order to prevent adverse impacts to manufacturing and other businesses,’ according to the order. The department of planning and energy resources within the Department of Public Service fears keeping flat rates for businesses could result in rate increases next year.
Efficiency Vermont, indicates that the decision helps with predictability and stability for customers with their rates, particularly the largest energy users.

Northeast Clean Energy Council Celebrates Clean Transportation Policy

The Northeast Clean Energy Council launched the “Clean Transportation Working Group” earlier this year, addressing immediate concerns involving carbon emissions. The NECEC has been labeled “The leading voice of clean energy industry in the Northeast” and celebrates a milestone “in the development of a regional clean transportation policy.”
NECEC initiative to “advance clean transportation” has transformed into a regional effort, including most states within the Northeastern United States.
